A Great Day
Another day
full of sightseeing. This morning started by attending the Beijing
International Church. The service was great; their children put on a
drama performance that was so cute! After that, we got a tour of a
jade factory (with an opportunity, of course, to purchase some jade).
Samantha and Christy each got bracelets. After our tour, we ate lunch
and did some more shopping. We then proceeded to the Great Wall of
China. It was awesome, although freezing and very windy. We
thought yesterday was cold but it was about 10 degrees cooler today.
We all made the trek up the wall past the "lucky tower". It was
inspiring to realize we were walking on the Great Wall of China, something
that was built more than 2,000 years ago!
After we thawed out, we drove back into Beijing for a formal
Beijing (Peking) duck dinner. The servers wore traditional Chinese
attire. The food was pretty good. Sam has been very adventurous
in trying different foods. Some of them she has like, others not so
much. We concluded the night by attending an acrobatic show. It
was astounding to see what they were able to do. One of the more
amazing stunts was when around 18 Chinese women piled onto one bike.
We just finished packing; very early tomorrow morning (6:00
AM), we leave for the airport. We finally will get to see Faith
tomorrow afternoon!!!
